1. Bearing fit


Rolling bearing is a standardized component with small friction, easy to start and easy to replace. When we are engaged in daily maintenance or mechanical design, it is very important to choose the bearing fit reasonably and correctly.


2. Purpose of bearing fit


The purpose of bearing fit is to make the bearing inner ring and the shaft or the outer ring and the shell firmly fixed, so as to avoid adverse circumferential sliding on the mutual fit surface. This adverse circumferential sliding (called creep) will cause abnormal heating, mating surface wear, wear iron powder into the bearing interior, vibration and other problems, so that the bearing can not play a full role. Therefore, for bearings, because of load rotation, it is generally necessary to let the ring belt interference to make it firmly fixed with the shaft or housing.


3. Common matching methods of bearings


There are two common mating methods for bearings, respectively: pressing fit and heating fit.


1) Press in fit


When the inner ring of the bearing is fitted tightly with the shaft, and the outer ring is fitted loosely with the bearing seat hole, the bearing can be mounted on the shaft by press first, and then the shaft and bearing together are loaded into the bearing seat hole. An assembly sleeve made of soft metal material (copper or mild steel) is placed on the end face of the inner ring of the bearing during press mounting. The inner diameter of the assembly sleeve should be slightly larger than the diameter of the journal. The outer diameter diameter should be slightly smaller than the inner rim of the bearing ring, so as not to press on the cage. The bearing outer ring is closely matched with the bearing seat hole. When the inner ring is loosely matched with the shaft, the bearing can be pressed into the bearing seat hole first. At this time, the outer diameter of the assembly sleeve should be slightly less than the diameter of the seat hole. If the bearing ring is a tight fit with the shaft and seat hole, the installation of the inner ring and the outer ring should be pressed into the shaft and seat hole at the same time, and the structure of the assembly sleeve should be able to hold the end face of the inner ring and the outer ring of the bearing at the same time.


2) Heating fit


By heating the bearing or bearing seat, the installation method of converting the tight fit into the loose fit by thermal expansion is a common and labor-saving installation method. This method is suitable for the installation of bearings with large interference amount. Before hot loading, the ring of bearings or separable bearings is put into the oil tank for uniform heating of 80-100℃, and then it is installed on the shaft as soon as possible from the oil. In order to prevent the inner ring end face and shaft shoulder from fitting tightly after cooling, the bearing can be tightened axially after cooling. When the bearing outer ring is closely matched with the bearing seat made of light metal, the hot loading method of heating the bearing seat can avoid the abrasion of the mating surface. When heating the bearing with the tank, there should be a grid at a certain distance from the bottom of the tank, or hanging the bearing with a hook. The bearing cannot be placed on the bottom of the tank to prevent impurities from entering the bearing or uneven heating. There must be a thermometer in the tank to strictly control the oil temperature not exceeding 100℃, so as to prevent the tempering effect and reduce the hardness of the ring.
